Dagoberto Martinez, M.D., FACOG, FACS

A native of Chile, Dr. Martinez graduated from the University of Chile medical school in Santiago in1970.   As a young M.D., he completed his internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of West Virginia in Wheeling, West Virginia.  In 1979 he began practicing Obstetrics and Gynecology in Brownsville, Texas.

Dr. Martinez achieved advanced credentials to become Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as Board Certified in Surgery.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (F.A.C.O.G.) and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.)  

Dr. D, as he is respectfully known, has long supported professional development.  He pioneered in Brownsville, the collaborative practice model utilizing nurse practitioners to assist women in a holistic approach to healthcare.  Dr. Martinez has served his community as Chief of OB/GYN and Chief of Staff at Valley Regional Medical Center and Brownsville Medical Center.  He has served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Valley Regional Medical Center.  

Dr. Martinez’s community service includes over 30 years of volunteering his time and expertise to the Cameron County Maternity Clinic and indigent care of Brownsville’s women

Martha M. Martinez, M.D., FACOG

Martha Martinez, M.D., originally from Matamoros, Mexico and formally educated in Villa Maria High School in Brownsville then graduating from Pan American University of Edinburg. She obtained her Medical School Education from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Doctor Martha, as she is respectively known, did her residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in the Department of OB/GYN. After her residence she returned to South Texas and joined Clinica Santa Maria. Dr. Martha is part of the Texas Medical Association and the American Medical Association. Dr. Martinez has continues her commitment for education through maintenance of certification as a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Laura Ceballos, M.D., Junior Fellow of ACOG

Dr. Laura Ceballos was born and raised in Alice, Texas. She graduated cum laude from the University of Texas San Antonio with a B.S. in Biology in 2000. Dr. Ceballos received her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas in 2005. Dr. Ceballos completed her residency at Texas Tech University and moved to Brownsville. She and her husband Ruben Ceballos, a Brownsville native, are the proud parents of a son Marcelo born in 2010. Dr. Ceballos medical interests are in adolescent care, polycystic ovarian syndrome, diabetes in pregnancy. Dr. Ceballos practice style focuses on the care of the whole patient, their physical and mental health as well as social factors.
